Cassata Drone Expanded Archive presenta, all’interno del programma di residenze internazionale Dono, Cammino (www.cassatadrone.org/dono) la prima mostra in Sicilia dell’artista australiana Naomi Eller.
La scultura “Weight with rope…in flux” accoglie il visitatore nella sua dimensione e nella sua concretezza andando a sondare, nel tocco dell’artista le stratificazioni complesse e pesantemente leggere del fare e dell’attivarsi in Sicilia.

Eller esporrà un nuovo lavoro di scultura, pensato per Palermo e per il programma di Cassata Drone Expanded Archive.
Come le sue opere precedenti, anche questa installazione scultorea si concentra sul nostro discorso personale e sui fattori esterni che giocano un ruolo nella nostra costruzione e distruzione.
L’opera, intitolata “Weight with rope …in flux”, è composta da una grande forma che fa riferimento al nostro essere, al nostro io interiore, alla pesantezza di un’ancora di pietra o alla leggerezza di una boa. L’apertura rappresentata come un unico foro. Realizzata con varie argille della terra siciliana (tra cui quelle della contrada Favara a Mazzarino), gli strati e la profondità della storia agiscono come una potente rappresentazione di come i canali del tempo nella storia possono essere interpretati. Eller lascerà l’opera senza “fiamma” (priva di cottura in forno), riflettendo la fragilità del materiale in un oggetto apparentemente solido.
E’ la prima mostra in Sicilia, dopo la personale presso il Museo Lissone di Milano nel 2017.
Naomi Eller è un’artista di Melbourne (Australia) che realizza sculture ispirate alla natura, al mito e alla condizione umana, traducendo in forma visiva i nostri complessi stati e sentimenti.

Cassata Drone Expanded Archive presents,
within the program of international residencies Dono, Cammino (www.cassatadrone.org/dono) the first exhibition in Sicily of the Australian artist Naomi Eller.
The sculpture “Weight with rope…in flux” welcomes the visitor in its dimension and in its concreteness going to probe, in the touch of the artist, the complex and heavily light stratifications of making and activating in Sicily.
In the bright and elegant setting of the former Bellotti Paper Mill
Eller will exhibit a new work of sculpture, designed for Palermo and for the program of Cassata Drone Expanded Archive.
Like her previous projects, this sculptural installation also focuses on our personal discourse and the external factors that play a role in our construction and destruction.
The work, entitled “Weight with rope…in flux”, is composed of a large form that refers to our being, to our inner self, to the heaviness of a stone anchor or to the lightness of a boa. The opening is represented as a single hole. Made from various clays from the Sicilian soil (including those from the district of Favara a Mazzarino), the layers and depth of history act as a powerful representation of how the channels of time in history can be interpreted.
Eller will leave the work without a “flame” (without baking in the oven), reflecting the fragility of the material in an apparently solid object.
It is the first exhibition in Sicily, after a solo exhibition at the Museo Lissone in Milan in 2017.
