Cold blood is what connects the work of Olmo Stuppia with the disenchanted yet political gaze of Vincenzo Profeta—accelerationist poet and visual artist—who, for Officine Bellotti, curates a selection of video works by the artist behind the Cassata Drone project. Starting from a reflection on the wounds of the contemporary Italian landscape. At Officine Bellotti’s theater the talk, film screening of Sposare la notte, and performance by artist and filmmaker g. olmo stuppia (Milan–Mazzarino, 1991), also known by his most visionary and renowned project, “Cassata Drone Expanded Archive,” unfold as a platform of research, art, poetry, and social design. The archive has generated over 20 exhibitions, workshops, walks, and proposals to relaunch Sicily as a Mediterranean diplomatic outpost. Stuppia has investigated the hidden territories of armed drones in Sicily and around the world—a visionary and sharp journey through technological imagination and pervasive militarization, transforming into an alchemical poetry of reality: contaminated amniotic fluid, chronicles of the air. From the Cassata Drone Expanded Archive (2018–ongoing) to the international production Marrying the Night with the Venice Biennale in 2022, and with the Italian Cultural Institute of New York in 2024—created between New York, Marghera, and Milan—Stuppia fuses irreverence and lyricism, body and politics, in a performative act that lays bare the contradictions of an era dominated by technological pressure, both as boast and prophecy.
